Working towards a more sustainable world
Sustainability runs through everything we do
The word sustainability holds a prominent place at RET. We believe it's important to contribute to a more sustainable world, and that shows in how we work and in the building we work from. The whole team keeps this in mind.
Green energy and smart use of heat
Our building is set up sustainably: we run on green energy. There are 80 solar panels on the roof generating power for the machines we use every day โ the embroidery machines, printers and heat presses, and of course all the computers, phones and lighting too.
We also heat with a pellet stove. It generates heat by burning wood pellets, and we use that heat to warm the water and heating throughout the building.
Boxes get a second life
We separate our waste carefully โ our colleague Marnix keeps a close eye on that. A lot of what comes in arrives in cardboard boxes and plastic or paper packaging. We separate as much of that as possible, and reuse the boxes for orders going out to our customers. That way we don't need to buy extra boxes.
Ink that's better for people and the environment
Our DTF printer works with water-based ink. That's an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional plastisol inks. This ink contains fewer harmful substances and dries at lower temperatures โ better for the environment, and better for the quality of the print.
Quality and sustainability go hand in hand
You can make conscious choices within our textile collection too. Our products don't just last a long time, they're also produced responsibly. Think of corporate clothing made from organic cotton and other natural fabrics, certified by organisations including the Fair Wear Foundation and the GOTS label for organic textiles.
By choosing sustainable and fairly produced products, we contribute to a better world: less harmful impact on the environment, better working conditions for textile workers, and high-quality clothing you can enjoy with a good conscience.
The labels we work with
Fair Wear Foundation
Not a garment label, but an independent organisation that works with brands to improve working conditions in factories. Members commit to a code of conduct based on international labour standards, implemented step by step in factories.
RCS โ Recycled Claim Standard
Confirms that a product demonstrably contains recycled material. The entire chain is traced and verified for this.
BPA-free
Products without bisphenol, a substance that's harmful to health and widely used in food packaging and drinkware.
OEKO-TEX
A certification confirming the textile has been tested for harmful substances and is safe for human use.
